Even though Delaware is a small state, the Vietnam Veterans of America are doing big things in its communities. The VVA of Delaware is committed to raise awareness and support for all of our nation’s veterans. From fundraisers to events, each VVA Delaware Chapter does its part to honor our veterans. Each year Chapter 850 holds the Annual Nam Jam to honor Vietnam veterans. The event brings chapter members, friends, families and the community together to enjoy music, food, drink and camaraderie. This Kent county Chapter hoses a number of events every year and is well known in the community. Members participate in activities from ceremonies at the County Memorial Park to parade participation and fundraiser dinners. This chapter also supports the community through scholarship awards programs for High School students. The Kent County Chapter is committed to getting important information out to all veterans. Chapter members work together in a 35 foot information trailer that serves as an outreach ministry to veterans of all wars. For over 8 years, the VVA of Delaware holds the Annual Miles for Military motorcycle ride. Over the past years the ride has raised nearly $100,000 that goes towards supporting the USO of Delaware and the VVA of Delaware as well as the purchase of phone cards for our troops over seas.
The VVA Chapters in Delaware continue to bring education to the community on important veteran topics. Show your honor and respect for veterans in need by scheduling a free donation pickup today.
