Of all the amazing things being done in Michigan by the Vietnam Veterans of America, it is no surprise that the VVA of Detroit has so many inspiring programs. The VVA continues to work with residents of Detroit to raise support for our nation’s veterans.
Project Salute is an amazing program that works with the University of Detroit Mercy to bring free legal consultations to veterans in order to educate them on topics such as the federal disability benefits and pensions that they deserve. As a part of the Detroit Metropolitan Area, VVA Chapter 154 of Macomb County is dedicated to doing its part for the community. Chapter 154 works with the community and local restaurants to hold fundraisers where 20% of the food bills are donated to the local Vet Center. The Vet Center is fundamental in veteran support and offers a large amount of important services to veterans in need. Because the Vet Center is run solely by volunteer staff, the VVA is committed to driving support for this honorable cause. Chapter 154 also provides Veteran Support Center Service Officers that work with veterans to inform them on important issues and help them with their VA claims.
Every cause and effort made by the VVA in Detroit is helping to bring awareness and education to the community about the many issues that our nation’s veterans face. Schedule a free donation pickup today and show your support and respect for those who fought for our freedom.
