There are so many amazing actions being done in Westchester County by the VVA that need your support in order to continue to benefit our nation’s veterans.

Chapter 49 of Westchester County is an inspiring example of the VVA’s efforts in honoring and assisting our nation’s veterans. Chapter 49 holds their annual candlelight vigils in the Lasdon Park Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the chapter’s way of honoring those who did not return from Vietnam. Chapter 49 contributes to the Westchester community by providing six scholarships of seven hundred dollars each to graduating High School seniors who are children of active duty service veterans. Chapter 49 also focuses its efforts on their Basecamp Westchester Program. This program’s mission is to provide services that assist homeless veterans in becoming independent members of society. Chapter 49 works with other organizations to support homeless veterans of the United States armed forces. They help veterans by providing security deposits for apartments, food pantry donations, computer training for homeless vets in the VA Hospital, kitchen kits and all other necessary housing kits.
